Prosthetic instruments in implant dentistry include all the tools used to perform the prosthetic phase of implant restoration. This includes all the steps leading to the realization of the implant prosthesis with impression taking, try-ins and final installation. The various prosthetic screwdrivers, torque wrench and abutment screws are some of the prosthetic instruments that are essential for these steps. Most of the time, they are manufacturer-specific, as the screw heads are different for each brand of implant. Sometimes the instrumentation may even be different for a particular implant model, depending on the type of restoration being planned. For example, a multi-unit abutment must be screwed in with a special screwdriver and the prosthetic screw with a different screwdriver.
